Dinner for Three {Carlie+Kris+Gabe}

Carlie moved through the apartment quickly. She didn’t understand why she agreed to it. It was going to be a mess, one large mess. She would have Gabriel and Kris for dinner. It was supposed to be a fun night, of talking, and drinking, but that wasn’t how it was going to go.

Gabe would flip out on Kris, because of the stunt she pulled with the shooting, and Kris will then fight Gabriel, destroying all the furniture Carlie had. Oh lord, this was a disaster. How could she agree to this? Has she gotten that stupid?

She picked up all the priceless artifacts and quickly rushed them to her room. Why didn’t she learn magic? She could put protective spells everywhere, so they would never touch them.

Carlie sat down on the couch, putting her face in her hands. Please, Gabe’s father, give her the strength to get through tonight. She was going to need every ounce of it to be sure Kris and Gabe didn’t murder each other.

Carbriel Drabble: Minutes before Midnight

worldatasnap:

It was too warm.

It was a warmth the seared pleasantly through limbs and grace. A contentment that smoothed over like a slick sheet of oil on water. A sense of belonging that gnawed and ached when it disappeared again. It was strong enough to drown yet called to Gabriel like a siren to a sailor.

Gabriel woke with a slight jolt, his awareness snapping back from the deep depth of dreamland to the soft cotton sheets he was currently entangled in. The room was pitch black with the exception of the bright red lights of the small alarm clock on the dash, blaring out in their glaring dots to let the whole room know it was 11:53pm. An acceptable time in Gabriel’s opinion. If it’d been 12:01, he’d be in trouble, but there were seven minutes between him and midnight. More than enough time to leave without being seen or missed.

Gabriel lifted up the sheet’s gently looking down on the blonde mess of hair that lay beneath. Despite this body needing to sleep unlike most angelic vessels, Gabriel still found the sensation of waking up with a willing warm body next to him unnerving. The girl had her face pressed soft against his chest, long slender arms wrapped tightly around his abdomen as if willing him to stay.

He’d been seeing the young dragon and old friend Carlie casually for almost a month now, never crossing that line between casual and romantic. He’d stayed away from spending the night. He hadn’t made any open show of feeling towards the young dragon. He’d kept his snark sharp and his wings wide, taking off at a moments notice without a care or whimsy on whether the woman wanted him to or not. But despite all the wayward woes that Gabriel threw into the relationship, Carlie had stood firm and constant towards him. She’s taken the biting remarks in silence. Had never called him out on leaving an empty space in the bed or leaving with no promise to return. Instead, she held him close when she could and whispered loving words that wound together like a spell, spinning and weaving a sense of belonging Gabriel knew he could never grasp.

 Gabriel had been given the belonging Carlie offered once. In Heaven with his brothers. He’d chosen to run away from that, condemning himself to the loneliness that came with that. Because that’s what it was: a condemnation. This warmth was not something Dad would let him have again. No matter who he had or what he did, the stabbing loneliness was the punishment he had to bear for leaving. For abandoning.

Gabriel ran dexterous hands through Carlie’s flaxen curls. The young dragon turned into his hand, sighing softly into his chest and sending a soft puff of air against the blackened scar that lay there. Gabriel couldn’t help the small quirk of a smile that graced his lips as he turned to look at the clock once more.

11:56.

Gabriel couldn’t have that warmth Carlie offered so freely.

But…

For a second..

Just for a second…

He could pretend that the warmth belonged to him.

One Kiss to Make It Better {Carlie+Gabriel}

worldatasnap:

Gabriel moved without even a second thought, reaching out as soon at Carlie stumbled and moving slightly as to soften and stop her fall.He looked down and almost immediately locked eyes on her greyed green eyes.

For a long moment, neither of them moved. Gabriel still didn’t prod into the dragon’s mind but it didn’t stop him from taking a visible and spiritual check up on the girl. His eyes searched hers as he poked and prodded unseen with his grace, finding the silver bullet embedded in her left leg. His chest tightened when he considered how dangerous that shot could’ve been if the shooter had aimed better.

“So Kris wasn’t lying then huh?” Gabriel said, a little chuckle masking the seriousness that lay within his voice. He pushed Carlie away from him finally, gently forcing her back down to the sofa with two fingers on her forehead. at the same time, his grace quickly and expertly obliterating the bullet, knitting the muscles back together, urging the tissue to regroup, and even replenishing some of the missing plasma that still hadn’t had the chance to be remade. And all done in under five seconds.

Once pleased with his handy work, Gabriel just plopped down on the couch next to the now confused dragon and placed his feet up on the coffee table, bouncing the cereal slightly. “I’m not watching this,” he said simply, flicking his wrist and causing the flatscreen to buzz with static and flash between shows before settling in what seemed to be a rerun of ‘Dr. Sexy MD’.

Carlie touched her leg feeling it completely healed. He had completely healed her without her consent. Why did he even heal her? Why did he sit down, and just begin to watch television like he lived there? It was so oddly…right….no…perfect is the better word. It was oddly perfect. They were perfect sitting on the couch, watching some stupid drama on television.

She licked her lips, feeling her heart race again. She wanted to cry. She wanted to break down and cry. He wasn’t leaving her, after everything, he wasn’t leaving her. She closed her eyes, relaxing, enjoying there was no pain. She glanced at her cereal and sighed. She definitely did not have an appetite anymore.

Carlie licked her lips, moving closer to him, watching his movements in case he wanted move away, but he didn’t move when she was leaning against him. So he was feeling something for her. She could see it fully now. He was feeling something for her. Her heart could fly at that moment. She watched for tension, and found none. She couldn’t stop the smile forming from her face. She leaned over, letting her lips gently grace his cheek, before she let herself settled on the couch, laying her head on his shoulder.

“Thank you, Gabe,” She whispered, looking at the television. “For….For everything. I know you’re bored, but…this means a lot to me, despite it all.”

She relaxed, a smile on her face, knowing he did care, but he couldn’t say it. She was well aware, he was frightened to say it, so she would play his game. She would pretend not to notice the worried glances, or how he fixed her immediately after seeing her.

“So Kris wasn’t lying then huh?”

The sentence finally clicked in her mind, making her move her head, and looked up at him.

“What did you mean Kris wasn’t lying?” She asked. “What does Kris have to do with you being here?”

Gabriel acted completely normal with Carlie leaning into him on the couch, not seeming to even be phased by her kiss or her thanks at all as if he hadn’t even noticed. In reality, he knew everything that was happening. He understood the feeling of her head pressed against his shoulder, the soft warmth from where she’d kissed him, the softness in her voice. The demon had been at least a little right, despite Gabriel’s great displeasure that someone had noticed: he did actually care for Carlie. Now, whether that was platonic or just because of how long they’d known each other or something else… Gabriel was not about to look at that closely for fear of what it might be. Of what he might not be able to handle.

So instead of analyzing what had happen and was happening, he pretended to be invested in the horrible writing and ridiculous acting in front of him.

“What did you mean Kris wasn’t lying? What does Kris have to do with you being here?”

Gabriel’s eyes flicked over to look in Carlie’s direction, catching her eyes almost immediately, before returning to the horrible soap. “We went out drinking tonight,” Gabriel said smoothly, “We drank. We talked. As we were leaving, she said you got shot. So, I figured I’d come and check.”

Carlie’s eyes locked with his as he spoke, and she felt her heart jump slightly. So the demon actually told him. The little demon was playing matchmaker again, and aiming for her happiness. She couldn’t believe it. The next time she saw Kris, she would have to kiss her. She made Gabe come to some of his senses, and it was wonderful.

She couldn’t help laughing, shaking her head. He played it off so well, but his eyes were so deceitful. She could read the panic in his eyes, just speaking about it. His face can play it calm, but his eyes were always her key on what was going on. She, especially, noticed how much more open his eyes were once she found out that he was Gabriel.

Carlie turned his face towards her, so she could see him, full on. She had hurt him, she knew that. She had hurt him so badly, and she regretted it all. She regretted for her reaction or even thinking he was one of those bastard angels. She swallowed.

"Gabe, I’m so sorry for hurting you," She said softly. "I may not have had the greatest experience with the angels."

She leaned forward, pressing her lips against his gently, resting her forehead against his. God, she wanted so much more, but she would never push him again. She would take it slow. She would do what she could.

"I trust you," She whispered against his lips. "You can be a pain in the ass, but I wouldn’t trust anyone more with my life."

Carlie looked into his eyes, staring at him fully, being open with him as possible, before she pulled away, and settled against the couch, pulling her leg up, letting him react the way he needed to. She would still be there.

One Kiss to Make It Better {Carlie+Gabriel}

worldatasnap:

Gabriel was a little awe struck for a second.

It had only taken him seconds ago that he’d been standing on a Grecian cliff watching an orgy play on. After Kris had dropped the bombshell of news on the drunken angel and taken off before details could be extracted, It took no more than five seconds for all the tequila and vodka and whatever other hard liqueurs the deity had pour into himself to burn out of his system, leaving Gabriel with a rather clear mind and a sudden clenching in his gut. It had only been a second after that he’d unconsciously flitted his way across an entire continent and an ocean to the new york apartment that everything had started in.

Truthfully, he hadn’t thought he’d find anyone in the place really. Kris had said Carlie had been shot and the way the young demon had said it, Gabriel figured she’d be in some hospital somewhere in New York bleeding out, not sitting on her couch with a bowl of cereal and crappy talk shows. Really, Gabriel wasn’t exactly sure how to precede. His chest was tight. He felt a swell of something release within him.And he had a sneaking suspicion the next time he saw a certain young demon the gloves were gunna come off. But right now he found he really didn’t care. All these strange… emotions were off-putting and not something Gabriel was really ready to face yet.

So, instead, Gabriel did what the older Winchester had always done: Locked it away and pretend it wasn’t happening.

“Dr. Phil? Really?!” Gabriel said with a little judgement in his voice but a honest small and tentative smirk gracing his lips, “Seriously? You know that turtle just makes up the stories right?”

Carlie stared up at him, a little stunned. She couldn’t believe it. He was here. He was actually here. Why was he here? No, wait, she couldn’t question that. She should just be happy he was finally back. She had to be glad to see the smirk in his face and that he was back teasing her.

However, she couldn’t force the feeling. Carlie could see his eyes. They said such worry. She didn’t know why he was worried. It wasn’t like he knew about her being shot. There was no evidence of it. She made sure to hide all evidence of the shooting. The last thing Ari needed was to do was come home from hunting and see her all damaged. It would send the young hunter is such a frenzy and that was the last thing she would want.

She pushed herself up from the couch, trying to make herself seem less vulnerable than she felt at that exact moment. He couldn’t know she was hurt, and her staying on the couch, would give him the wrong idea, quickly. She had to hide the pain she felt the moment she stood up, and how much her body was screaming at her.

“Gabe, what…” She paused feeling her leg shaking. She took a deep breath, before stepping forward and stumbling right into him.

Oh god. She was leaning into his arms, and her heart was racing. She could smell the alcohol, sea air, and a hint of aftershave on him. She never felt her heart jump and slam against her chest as hard as it was. She slowly looked up at him, swallowing, their eyes locking, and she could see the intense worrying seeping through his golden eyes.

She was so screwed.

Gabriel moved without even a second thought, reaching out as soon at Carlie stumbled and moving slightly as to soften and stop her fall.He looked down and almost immediately locked eyes on her greyed green eyes.
